I’ve gained a reputation in the industry for providing pragmatic and sound advice and designing quality landscape schemes for commercial housing proposals, industrial developments and the care sector.
My breadth of experience working with local planning authorities means I really understand the planning system and what local authorities are looking for in commercial schemes. I appreciate the value of good quality landscapes, and advise my clients on how to get the best out of a site and gain the support of the local planning authority.
Most of all, I love what I do. After 45 years I’m enjoying it more than ever.

My colleague Scott is an arboricultural consultant with over 15 years’ experience. After training at Otley College and the University of Askham Bryan, he’s had a varied career working at James Blake Associates, Wardell Armstrong and JCA. He set up his own practice in 2019 and works alongside Blue Hill Landscape Design to deliver various technical arboricultural surveys and reports.
The best bit of the job for him (not surprisingly) is getting to work with nature. Being outdoors whatever the weather is what keeps him motivated in his work.
Scott undertakes tree surveys, arboricultural assessments, method statements, and tree protection plans.
